We appreciate the opportunity to work with you and all our clients.

Some things to be aware of, terms, conditions, etc.

Timeframes
Minimum lead timeframe to delivery is never any less than two weeks. Depending on the work required it can be several weeks, different types of work require appropriate time. We recommend beginning any design or website project 6 months in advance. Deadlines and deliverables will be detailed at the outset.
(Rush jobs may be possible, see below on this page.)

Materials to be provided by the client must be delivered on schedule for the work deadlines to remain valid.
Copy (text) must be edited and final before it is  provided to us.
Changes requested by the client to client materials (such as client-provided text or images) already delivered to us may result in additional fees.

A note about websites...
A few years ago, it was possible to make a "set it and forget it" style of website, which, once published, simply remained static forever and needed no maintenance. It is still possible to make really basic websites, but, the contemporary internet, the web and its codes have more "moving parts" than they once did. While not every client needs an elaborate website, some level of ongoing maintenance is hard to avoid at this point.

Websites require ongoing monitoring over time to ensure that they stay functional and all software components remain up to date. We carry out this maintenance as needed over time. Most maintenance is routine and requires a small amount of time, therefor any invoicing for maintenance will occur cumulatively at most twice a year rather than at each instance. As the internet becomes more robust, websites use increasingly sophisticated Content Management Systems and extension software for them. This incurs ongoing licensing costs (overhead) for software and occasional custom coding. As websites are updated, and new sites created, billing will reflect these contemporary costs.

Note that design.1site.co and its staff, partners, owner, and software suppliers are responsible for maintaining and implementing the website itself, these same parties are not responsible for hosting server or domain registry services which are outside our control. If technical issues arise with the server we will make every reasonable effort to find a resolution but ultimately we do not control server operations at any hosting company. Domain registry is the client's responsibility to renew unless specifically agreed otherwise ahead of time.

RUSH
There is a RUSH fee for work requests under the minimum lead time of 14 days. Rush requests are welcome when possible, however adjustment is needed for consequences to other work scheduling or revenue delays. Fees will be $200 CDN or, if invoice is over $400 CDN, 50% premium of invoice total.

Invoicing
Invoices are issued on completion of work, or on a schedule agreed in advance.
Invoices are due on receipt. Minimum charge $150 (as of June 01 2017).
New work cannot begin if any previous invoices remain outstanding.
Usage rights, copyrights (if any), and materials (if any, including transfer media), and artwork (digital or print including websites) are not transferred to clients for any purpose until payment for the project is fulfilled. Delivery to a client of mock-ups, or final artwork (digital or print including websites) does not in itself imply or constitute transferal of any rights of use for any purpose.

Please quote invoice number(s) on cheques and electronic payments. If you are sending an electronic fund transfer, please remit to design@1site.co to ensure correct recording of payment.
